Our Routes

Starting with us at Skye EBikes, collect your equipment at one of our daily sessions and leave your car behind as you cycle off for an unforgettable day out!

As you experience one of our incredible routes, where you have the opportunity to see many of Skye’s treasured places together with some of its more hidden gems. As well as immersing yourself in the beauty of the unique landscape, this ride offers many chances to see a wide variety of our native animals from eagles and seals to rabbits and hares; you are never far from the local crofters free roaming cows and sheep.

Whether you like history, geology, or just taking in the sights, the Trotternish peninsula has something for everyone.

We encourage you can take along a picnic or eat along the way, but don’t forget to bring along a refreshing drink of water to be ready for your day!

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for cycling, taking the weather into account. We recommend the use of sun cream and midge repellent as required.

A perfect way to see the Trotternish peninsula I had one of the best outdoor experiences I've ever had on holiday on these e-bikes, which were easy to ride and very comfortable. Given it was a Sunday, when no buses run on Skye except the ones to and from Glasgow or Inverness, I even got a lift back from Kilmuir (where the e-bike centre is) to Portree. The folks who run the company are super friendly as well :) Oh, and the Trotternish Peninsula is achingly beautiful which doesn't hurt either!

I wish that I had rented the bike for two days! What an absolutely amazing experience! Thank you, this was a highlight of my trip to Skye! The bikes were perfect for the terrain, in excellent condition/safe, and made the trip in this area so much more interesting than by car! After cycling all day, there was still >75% of battery left. The owners are also friendly and can speak Scottish Gaelic <3. Without a doubt, I recommend renting an e-bike with this local company to explore Skye. Hope you have a nice trip too!

A wonderfull day out We had a great day out. Freya was lovely and so helpful and the new bikes were perfect for the terrain. The Trotternish route offered superb scenery and was very manageable. We had a very good lunch at Midday at Clachan. Highly recommended

One of the most magical days of my holiday! Skye EBikes made one of the most magical days of my holiday in Scotland possible! The bike I hired was in great shape and easy to use. I love that they suggest routes, and the instruction of the bike operation as well as riding safety made me feel confident to ride. The roads were not crowded for me and generally cars were gracious so that made things extra easy. This was a fantastic way to see points of interest and get a feel for the island since I didn't have a car. 10/10 would recommend and would do again! Thanks Skye Ebikes!

Don't Miss This Experience on a Trip To Scotland!!! We had an AMAZING time on our Skye EBikes. We did the Trotternish Explorer Route and we had so much fun! We were a little worried about riding on the main loop road, but it was no problem at all. The staff was so helpful, even suggesting a small change to our route which was perfect for us. We were told the route takes around 4 hours to complete, but we had so much fun stopping to enjoy the beautiful scenery that it took us all day. We got drenched the first two hours of our day, which just added to the fun! After that, it cleared up and we had beautiful weather. This bike ride was the highlight of our 2-week trip to Scotland. The bikes are in great shape, easy to use and made going up hills very easy. Rent these bikes - you won't regret it!!!

A wonderful way to enjoy the spectacular scenery in Isle of Skye. High quality ebikes to enjoy on the picturesque Isle of Skye made for a wonderful day for the whole family. This was one of the top highlights of our trip through Scotland this summer.

A brilliant day out A wonderful day exploring the beautiful Trotternish area on e-bikes. The family that rent out the bikes were so helpful and friendly. A great way to travel round the area and the e-bikes were easy and fun to use with the additional bonus of being able to cycle up hills with relative ease. Would definitely recommend Skye-bikes.

Awesome! Beautiful scenery! Easy bus access from Portree. Good instructions. Decent price. Totally worth it! Main loop road crowded with car traffic. More enjoyable on back roads.

E-bike rental My husband and I decided to do the e-bike rental when visiting Skye recently. We couldn’t have been happier with the rental. We chose to do the Trotternish route and it was a great way to see part of the island. You have plenty of time to do the route and stop off to explore as you like. The quality of the bikes is fantastic as well, makes for easy riding.
